Transports

To immediately contribute to lifesaving in our overburdened local shelters, the Alliance also began working with the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation in early 2010 and local shelters like Los Angeles Animal Services, Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control, and spcaLA to facilitate high quality, life saving transports of homeless small dogs to several premier, adoption guarantee agencies across the country multiple times per month.

Small dogs are abundant in our local shelters but not in other regions across the country. Transporting them helps save both the lives of the dog being transported as well as gives the wonderful homeless pets in our shelters more time and space to find a forever home. The North Shore Animal League of America has been especially generous in these life saving efforts and receives our wonderful, gorgeous but homeless small pets with open arms every month before placing them in forever homes. Pictured to the right are just some of the wonderful Los Angeles shelter dogs that North Shore Animal League of America gave a new start and forever home to.

The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation makes so many of these life saving events possible and also powers the other wonderful partners of the Compassion Revolution, including Best Friends LA, H.E.A.L., and Last Chance for Animals, to transport hundreds of small homeless dogs at risk of euthanasia to other adoption guarantee agencies across the country every month.

That thousands of previously homeless dogs are now in loving, permanent homes is truly amazing and a testament to the power of working together.
